My Credentials
I have a TEFL Level 5 Certification (168 hours of training) from The TEFL Academy. I also have certifications to teach business English and English for young learners.
About me
I am a native English speaker from the United States where I was born and raised. Before I became an EFL teacher, I lived in New York City and worked in the technology sector as a web developer and designer for eighteen years. Much of that time, I worked for a notable international news and business magazine, where I became interested in editorial work. After a long career as a developer and having moved to a small town in Pennsylvania, I earned a certificate in copyediting from Emerson College and worked as a freelance copy editor for eight years. I edited fiction from short stories to novels, correcting spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax errors.
My Lessons
It is important that you learn new material, but equally important that you have plenty of time to practice. Half of the time you will practice with me, where I can help you with your grammar and pronunciation. You will be given homework to practice between lessons to reinforce what you have learned.
